Mission District

“The theater, City Landmark No. 245, was designed by the Reid Brothers and subsequently renovated by Timothy Pflueger. It is the best surviving example of an early 20th century movie palace in the Mission District and “one of a handful surviving in San Francisco with any degree of integrity,” according to the Planning Department property description.
Exterior “character defining” features include the building’s Art Deco facade, 70-foot neon pylon sign, cantilevered marquee, and streamlined parapet. Historic interior features include the double-height ceiling with mezzanine at rear; Art Deco-style metalwork at balustrades; decorative plaster in the lobby; stacked lozenge-shaped mirrors; zigzag ceiling moldings evoking a Maya temple; and etched glass panel doors.” -via San Francisco Business Times
